Hi everyone! Just a week ago, I was running 13.1 miles by Niagara Falls on the Canadian side–my first post-baby race. My husband, Steve, and several of his friends were running the full marathon which apparently is the world’s only international marathon. It starts in Buffalo, NY, and crosses into Niagara Falls, ON.
I would be lying if I said I trained for this race, but with it raining SO much in Virginia, I just made too many excuses to postpone running for another day. During my stay at Niagara Falls, it was either rainy or cloudy EXCEPT on race day! It was sunny with blue skies with a rainbow by the falls–it was so beautiful, but by the end of the race, I was hurting so much that I could barely walk out of the hotel room for dinner. I only snapped a quick picture of it with my camera phone as I ran by.
I got to play tourist and did the Maid of the Mist boat ride and the Journey behind the Falls. I also ate Tim Bits and ketchup chips for the first time.
Here are some photos from my trip and next time, I will DEFINITELY be training since it took six days before I could walk without pain, even with an ice bath post race.
